- Create a design that will match the theme of your blog. Make sure that if it is for a business it is professional looking.
- Submit your blog URL and RSS feed to a popular RSS and Blog directory or search engine.
- Try to host your link on other more prominent web sites that deal with the same topic.
- One of the best and more effective ways of getting the attention of people is to write a professional press release and to distribute through special sites. This press release can be sent to several different places and will allow people to recognize that your blog is out there and the type of information people can find on it.
- You need to post at least 3-5 times every week. Make sure that what you write is unique and something that many people want to read. If you have a news site than you want to focus on posting 2-4 articles per day.
- Make sure that when someone comments on your site and asks you a question you respond immediately.
- Try to leave comments on other more popular blogs that are similar to yours.
- Take advantage of the many social networking forums, services, and discussions. This helps you to connect with other bloggers like yourself. If they like the sites you have than you can work out a way for them to link back to your site.
- Ask other bloggers to review your site for you and to post it on their site.
