Affiliate Marketing and PLR

Written by admin on April 26th, 2008 in Affiliate Marketing.

One of the things you need to do when you build your website for marketing a product is to provide rich content. A site with sparse content and a number of affiliate links and ad banners is boring and unlikely to attract people. Remember, they have landed on your site while looking for the product or perhaps one of the products you are marketing. It is the job of the site and hence your job to convince your visitors to click on the link that will take them to the merchant’s site. For this reason, your site must provide rich content.

Rich content signifies a lot of information, regularly updated, that is in some way related to the product(s) you are marketing. This, nowadays, generally boils down to blogging sites. A blog site has to provide new and relevant material on their site almost on a daily basis. If you have only one site and have a gift for writing, you might just be able to manage the job. However, if you are running, say five sites, marketing five different products, trying to research and write all those articles is probably going to overwhelm you. This is a situation where you can take the help of PLR articles.

PLR or Private Label Rights articles are well-researched and well written articles provided by several sites for the use of website owners. These websites are usually membership based. To avoid duplication of articles on many sites, the membership of these sites is usually strictly limited, but once you are a member, you can get hundreds of articles for as little as 15 to 20 cents each. If you use such articles, however, be sure to rewrite them to some extent, as some sites do not allow you to use their articles verbatim, and avoiding duplication is in your interest too.

Often these articles are written with no particular keyword density in mind, so rewriting them for search engine optimization is important. There is no particular rule to this. Some people go with minimal rewriting, others go for 60%, and there are others still who rewrite the articles completely.  Rewriting the articles can render them unique, and imprint your personal touch on them, and also make them more relevant to your site.

Here are some ways to rewrite PLR articles. Start by changing the title. Make it something more relevant to your needs. Rewrite the first paragraph completely if possible, If necessary, say the same things but in a different way. Then go through the rest of the article and make the necessary changes to follow the tone set in your first paragraph. You can insert new sentences, and delete the ones that are not relevant. Finally rewrite the ending. Make it so that the reader is motivated to purchase the product. It is here that you can close a sale. Finally restrict the article length to between 450 and 500 words.

As a rule, some Internet Marketers do not touch PLR based topics as most of them tend to be overly exploited by marketers. But these PLRs are written for a economic reason that they help in letting marketers know the financial value of that niche :) Thats something many overlook. Thank you for the wonderful advice here though.
